Djokovic Is Willing to Skip Wimbledon and French Open to Avoid Vaccine

Novak Djokovic stated he was prepared to miss the French Open, Wimbledon and other tournaments if he was needed to get a coronavirus vaccine to compete.In an interview with the BBC that aired on Tuesday, the Serbian tennis star said he thought in having the liberty to select whether to get vaccinated and that the ability to make the decision about what goes into his body was “more essential than any title, or anything else.” Mr. Djokovic stated he understood that his vaccination status indicated that he was “unable to take a trip to many of the tournaments at the moment,” however, he included, “That is the rate that Im prepared to pay.” Mr. Djokovics choice to remain unvaccinated, which came weeks after he was not able to complete in the Australian Open, may postpone his quest to win more Grand Slam titles than his rivals.
